Tejano and Anglo Towns (CEC)

This map shows the Anglo-American “Texian” heartland of Texas. The Tejano communities, now relegated to a Spanish-speaking hinterland in the south. Nacogdoches, swamped by English-speaking newcomers, became a mere outpost of the century-old culture that had been rooted in the region.
