A New Map of Texas (CEC)

The actions of the US Army on the Texas frontier literally changed the map of Texas. This image of the new geographical reality, was among the first published. The Comanche and Kiowa reservations are clearly marked, but the old Comanche hunting grounds are already divided up into counties. Any real vestiges of the Comanche Empire had been effectively erased. Click on the image for a larger view.
