The Battle of San Jacinto, April 21, 1836

The Mexican forces set up a barricaded defensive position that unwisely faced a slight depression. The Texians were able to approach the Mexican position under cover, seeming to rise up out of the earth at close range, before firing a volley and swarming over the defenses.
